Vendors – Conditions of sale
- Border Auctions Ltd act only as agents and Auctioneers for the vendors.
- The vendor guarantees to Border Auctions Ltd that they have legal title to the goods or authority from the owner to sell, that they are over 18 and that details given as to their identification are true and accurate.
- The vendor gives Border Auctions Ltd absolute right to photograph and illustrate any item placed for sale and to utilise the results as Border Auctions Ltd deem necessary.
- Goods will be sold without reserve unless otherwise instructed by the vendor and agreed by the auctioneers.
- Commission charged to the vendor on Items in the antique sales will be 15% of the hammer price.
- Commission charged to vendors on items in the household sales will be 25% of the hammer price.
- VAT will be charge at the current rate (17.5%) on commission and any Collection charges.
- No commission will be charged on unsold lots.
- Lots may be withdrawn only on prior permission of Border Auctions Ltd and after settlement of any charges.
- Payment to the vendors will be made as soon as all transactions are completed.
- Unsold lots may be re-entered at the sole discretion of Border Auctions Ltd.
- Where goods are an asset of the vendors business, the vendor will be required to disclose whether they are registered for VAT.
- A Minimum charge of £1.00 will apply to all items entered in the household sales.
- Vendors must arrange for the removal or disposal of goods not sold within 10 days of the sale date. Any item remaining after the 10 days period will be subject to a storage charge of £1.00 per item/day
- Vendor wishing for Border Auctions Ltd to dispose of their unsold goods will be subject to a charge of £1.00 per item.
